Structural Differences Between Pumice Production Machines and Standard Block Production Facilities
Block production facilities can be classified into two main categories based on the materials used and production processes: pumice production machines and standard block production machines. The differences between these two types of facilities become apparent due to the variety of raw materials used and how these materials are processed. In this post, we’ll discuss the fundamental differences between the two types and explain why each type of facility is distinct.

Pumice Production Machines and Raw Materials

Pumice production machines primarily utilize pumice stone as the raw material. Pumice stone, known for its high porosity and lightweight properties, is ideal for pumice block production. The only materials used in this process are cement, water, and a single aggregate type, pumice. The lightweight structure of pumice provides excellent insulation.
These facilities generally have a single 27 m³ sand bunker due to the simplicity of the materials involved. Since no additional aggregates are required, pumice crushers and sieves are incorporated to process pumice stones to the desired sizes, ensuring efficient production.

Standard Block Production Machines and Multiple Raw Materials

On the other hand, in countries where pumice is not available, block production is often achieved by using cement, water, and multiple aggregate types. The addition of other aggregates, such as sand, gravel, and various stone powders, enhances the durability and specific characteristics of the concrete blocks.
In these production facilities, the sand bunker typically has three sections, allowing for the storage and use of different aggregates. This feature makes standard block production machines versatile in handling a wide range of raw materials.

Structural Differences in Production Equipment
In terms of mortar preparation, there are distinct differences between pumice and standard block production machines. Pumice production machines have a simpler mortar preparation process due to the single aggregate type (pumice). In contrast, standard block production machines require more complex equipment and processes to mix multiple aggregates, so additional mixers or dispensers are often utilized.

Pumice Crusher and Sieve for Pumice Production

Pumice production machines may require additional processing for pumice stones of varying sizes. Pumice crushers and sieves are used to break down large pumice stones and separate them into desired sizes, producing a uniform product. Standard block production facilities typically use aggregates that are pre-processed, so they do not require these crushing or sieving components.

Why Are These Structural Differences Necessary?

These structural differences define the specific characteristics of the blocks produced. Pumice machines and single-type pumice aggregates are sufficient for producing lightweight, porous, and well-insulated blocks, while standard block machines offer a wider variety of block characteristics, suitable for regions with different climates and structural requirements.
